Quinta do Vallado, established in 1716, is one of the oldest and most notorious “Quintas” in the Douro Valley. It once belonged to the legendary Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, and still belongs to her descendents.
Since 2005, Quinta do Vallado can host guests in its renowned Wine Hotel. The estate has a Manor House, built in 1733 and recently refurbished, in addition to a new building concluded in 2012. This new building, made almost entierly out of slate, the predominant material in the region’s soil, was designed by Arch. Francisco Vieira de Campos.
The estate has a stunning swimming pool and offers multiple activities such as walks, bicycle rides, boat trips, fishing sessions, picnics, cooking classes and wine tastings. All rooms and suites are equipped with A/C, TV and Wi-Fi access.
