Parque de Natureza de Noudar is located in a farm estate called Herdade da Coitadinha, ‘over-the-hills’ between the winding rivers Ardila and Múrtega and lodged among hills and summits, in an extensive holm oak grove (‘montado’) area, near the frontier village of Barrancos.After your long walks, the Park offers you two lodging units: Casa do Monte and Casa da Malta, two houses imbued with history and identity. The recovery of the housing estate done by the Herdade da Coitadinha’s former owner resulted in Casa do Monte, with capacity for 12 people distributed by 4 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms. Sit in the house’s spacious front porch and be sure to bid farewell to the sun which sets behind the Noudar Castle.The Casa da Malta was a fixture of the old Alentejo estates: a communal shelter for farm workers. The Herdade da Coitadinha was no exception: workers would sleep in straw beds laid out in a communal room with a large central fireplace. Casa da Malta was kept and turned it into a low-cost lodging unit, with capacity for 26 people, including 2 twin bedrooms and 2 double bedrooms with private bathrooms, 2 multiple rooms that can house up to 7 people and 1 other room for up to 4 people, with both male and female bathrooms.
