Herdade da Sanguinheira

We are in the heart of the Alentejo region. Surrounded by bucolic oak groves and plains which seem endless, here you find another life. The country silence echoes and we can almost imagine the noises of harvesting and grazing. To accompany these sounds, we can hear the coocoo call in time with the crickets. We have swapped the huts for cozy lodgings, where you may experience the true Alentejo nature. In Summer, the heat contrasts with the Winter’s smell of wet soil. But the sky, whatever the season, is always starry and unique to this region.

To receive the guests there is Benji,  Pantufa and Bolota. As in the nearby town, we have a fountain with drinkable water. And as the legend goes, we know that who drinks of this water, will surely return. We like progress, but our experience opposes the mundane and city habits. Communication is primarily with yourself or with who accompanies you. But you are not secluded. Enjoy the sumptuous sunsets or the lovely sunrises. This is the setting we have to offer of our Alentejo.
