Casa do Xico

Located in the village of Guardizela, about 15 minutes from Guimarães and 30 minutes from Oporto and its international airport, you will find Casa do Xico.

The house has a capacity for six people, offering two suites with private bathroom and a double sofa-bed. Guests can enjoy the lovely living room and a fully equipped kitchen, plus laundry room.
There is, as well, a salted-water swimming pool with views over the vineyards.

We also offer free wifi within the premises and cleaning services every other day.

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful little house where my great-grandmother was born. She was the daughter of the Quinta de Freixieiro caretakers, and was raised by the ladies of the “big house”.

When Freixieiro became my family’s home, we rebuilt the small house next to it. After getting married, Xico, the eldest son of a family that has been working with us for forty years, moved into this house. There, the often called “brave boy” in all senses of the word, raised his family, brought his dreams to life and helped take care of the Quinta de Freixieiro. Be it night or day, Sunday or a holiday, as soon as his name would be heard: “-Oh Xico!”, there he would come, immediately, to help those in need.

His new dreams led him away from the house (but not too far), and this house could not have any other name than – Casa do Xico!
Just like him, it is a beautiful, strong and welcoming house.
